Hello, all. It's been a while since I've released any maps for public play. I just haven't had any real reason to touch up my maps enough. I still make 'em, but just to mess around with. Well, I finally decided to make a netmap, I figured it would get played seeing as how everyone's buying the boxed set. The Hyperarchive was a little sparse for a while, but now it'll probably pick up again. This map is dedicated to my girlfriend, Elsie. There's a terminal dedicated to her in the level. It's out of the way of the action. Here's the deal. There is a invincibility item in the terminal room. DO NOT abuse this privilage. Either make the room off-limits in net games, or make the person who gets the item read the entire terminal. This should discourage any static ball hogs. With that out of the way, here's the lowdown on the map itself.
version: Marathon Infinity
players: 2-8
games available: Kill the Man With the Ball, King of the Hill, Every Man for Himself, and Teams.
Hill: the water pool at the end of the river. (center of map)
Ball Location: The Skylab room with the rocket launchers (top left of map)
weapons available: all
Now, I've never been one to go really spiffy on netmaps. My map is clean, but it's not fancy. No ambient/random sounds, minimal lighting. Sorry. It does save on memory, though. Feel free to retrofit this map to suit your own tastes, just don't repost it under your name. Please. If you're a sniper, you'll find some nice real estate in here. If you're a carnage freek, you'll find nice open places in here as well. If you're a wimp, well, hide in a water hole or something. ;) Thanks for letting me ramble. Enjoy the map, and PLEASE send me some feedback on this thing. I'd like to know if anyone ever actually PLAYS my maps. Pick on me or my girlfriend if you want, I don't care, just mail me SOMETHING!!! I will mail you back.
Kudos to Bungie for the tools, and to the guy who made Hex, whose name escapes me at the moment. It's not in the readme either. *sigh* Also, thanx to some former DMMC'ers for the Icons.
